(07-27-10) The Anniston Army Depot’s Defense Munitions Center hosts a change of command ceremony today for the retiring ADMC commander to relinquish command to another soldier. Lieutenant Colonel Duncan MacMullen has been the ADMC Commander since September of 2008. He is retiring from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service, and he describes the highlight of his career at the depot. Today MacMullen passed command to Lieutenant Colonel Randall DeLong, who has been a soldier for 21 years. He comes to Anniston from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. However, he is no stranger to the area. He reported to his first duty assignment more than 20 years ago right here at McClellan. Like MacMullen, DeLong also says the southern hospitality is no cliché, and he is glad to be back. But he already knows there are going to be some challenges.
The Anniston Defense Munitions Center is a tenant on the depot that provides receipt, storage, shipment, maintenance, inspection and recycling of conventional ammunition and missiles in support of the joint war fighter.
