Boys and Girls Clubs across Alabama are receiving a much needed financial boost.
The state Department of Human Resources is teaming up with Alabama Alliance to fund a new membership initiative to units across the state. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Alabama are using their portion of the money to provide 350 free memberships to eligible kids. Their new membership drives are taking place through August 7. Chief Professional Officer Tim Wofford says this funding could not have come at a better time. The CPO for the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama says this funding will also allow his units to offer memberships to those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate. There are requirements each member must meet to qualify for one of these free one year memberships funded through DHR. For more information you can contact your local Boys and Girls Club.
