(07-27-10) Gadsden could soon welcome a unique business into the downtown area. The Gadsden City council today approved two resolutions that will allow Gadsden’s first micro-brewery to begin operations soon on Henry Street. The city’s commercial development director talks about these resolutions. The owner of Back Forty Beer Company, Jason Wilson, is also requesting for special exception to allow the microbrewery in the B-4 area. That request will go before planning and the Board of Adjustments in August. Wilson has been making his gourmet beer in Mississippi and shipping it back to Alabama for about 13 months. He explains why he’s choosing to bring this type of business to downtown Gadsden. You can find more information at www.backfortybeer.com.
